Natural Talent Design Competition
The 7th Annual
The Minnesota Chapter of the USGBC supports the Natural Talent Design Competition to help facilitate a green building collaboration between aspiring architects and designers with the Chapter and the professional community.
What: This year’s project is the renovation and expansion of the Jackson Elementary School in St. Paul, MN.
This is an educational facility that will accommodate hands-on activities, workshops and classes for students, teachers visiting school groups and the community .

Why: To empower students and young professionals to become future leaders within the green building movement.
Who: Young professionals within two years of graduation and current college students. Teams can work in tandem with mentors, including project check-ins and professional development. Designs will be due October 31, 2014 and winners will be announced at the end of November. Teams will be recognized at our Annual Meeting.
Dates to Remember:
September 12, 2014 – Last day for free registration | $25 per team after
October 31, 2014 – Design submission due date
November – Judging & Award Ceremony (date to be determined)
All teams benefit greatly from participating in the competition. They gain valuable project experience and can add the competition to their CV. The top three teams will be awarded prize money. In addition to this, all teams are recognized in a press release following the ceremony.
